Briggs is one of three falls within 2.5 km of each other...the other two being Middle Pitch and Jackson Falls. Briggs Falls was part of an old sawmill. The waterfall is located upstream of the bridge spanning the North Branch Meduxnekeag River. The falls aren't large but they are interesting to view. What also is interesting is the rock formation with its folding and erosion of the less competent rock. The easiest way to see Briggs Falls is to take exit 187 off the TCH and head west...

Jackson Falls aren’t big, but worth the visit. The easiest way to see Jackson Falls is to take exit 187 off the TCH and head west along Route 95. Drive about 7 km and you will come to the Route 540 Interchange. Take the exit to Route 540 and then turn right onto this road. Follow Route 540 for 10.2 km and pull off to the side of the road. There should be a large bridge just in front of you spanning the Meduxnekeag River. The waterfall is directly below the bridge (watch out for trolls). ...

This stretch of the Trans Canada/NB Trail starts from the old train trestle in Woodstock and runs north 16.5km to the town of Hartland. The trailhead is off Route 105 and ends at the Hartland Covered Bridge. The Hartland Covered Bridge is beautiful and well maintained. It is the world's longest covered bridge at 391 metres and crosses over the Saint John River. The bridge is open to walkers and cars.
