This trail begins in Overlook Mountain Wild Forest leading to the top of Overlook Mountain. From here, continue down hill towards the Echo Lake Trail and the lake. Enjoy the views of the water before turning around and heading back up and over Overlook Mountain. Anglers fishing in the lake should be familiar with NY fishing rules.

Sloan Gorge Preserve is a popular area with a very small parking area. Only 7 cars can park at a time with limited overflow parking on the south side of Stoll Road.
