This excursion takes place along the Tour Monte Rosa (TMR): a route divided into nine official stages that goes around the Monte Rosa massif in Italy and Switzerland. This is the first stop on the tour that goes from Zermatt to the Teodule Refuge at (3317m). The path goes up to Ze Gassen where several restaurants are waiting for you.

This circular hike is of medium difficulty. The starting point is the mountaineers' cemetery in Zermatt and from there it goes up in the direction of Am Stalden Weg, through a beautiful forest to Ze Gassu. It then continues to Eggen and from there clockwise around the Leisee. From here you can enjoy a fantastic panorama of the Matterhorn. It then goes back via Ze Gassu, down to Zermatt, to the starting point. There are many playgrounds along the way.

Perfect as a family excursion with a fantastic view of the Rothorn and the Gornergrat. Zermatt is world-famous for the Matterhorn and the ideal starting point in summer (bike, hiking, jogging) and winter for all types of skiing.
