This trail starts at the mountain station of the Gornergratbahn. Then it goes first through Zermatt and then up to Furi. Along the Zmurtbach stream it goes higher up until the shore of the small yet picturesque Schwarzsee lake is reached. A few kilometers later the trail reaches the Gornergrat peak and then goes back again in a wide arc. Along the tour there are dozens of ways to shorten the route as one wishes.

This great hike is located in the Mattertal in the canton of Valais. The path begins in Zermatt and leads through the Üsseri Wälder to Adler Hitta and up to Sunnegga at 2288 m above sea level.
