A beautiful circular hike that leads to 11 chapels in and around Appenzell. The route leads along side roads, forest and meadow paths and always offers spectacular views of the Alpenstein. The places of worship along the way are: Kreuzkapelle, St. Antonius-Kapelle, Dreifaltigkeitskapelle, Kapelle St. Verena, St. Karl Borromäus Kapelle, Lehnkapelle, Waldkapelle St. Ottilia, Chäsmoos-Kapelle, Kapelle St. Magdalena, St. Anna-Kapelle, Lourdes-Kapelle.

The second stage starts from Appenzell and goes to Gontenbad and via the barefoot path on Moosboden to Joakobsbad. Very nice and varied tour with lots of pastures and forests. This trail is marked with the number 44 on the yellow trail signs and it is very well marked.

This tour starts in Appenzell and leads through the canton of Innerrhoden with great views and places. The path passes some small and larger settlements. Shortly after Bühler it also comes across the Hohe Buche at 1145m and then hikes or drives on via Speicher. Then it goes on via Gupf at 1089m and then in a wide arc to Altstätten before one comes back to Appenzell. A challenging but very beautiful tour.
