Pousada Piazzale - Campos do Jordao

This trail is one of the different routes that take you to Pico do Itapeva. Pico do Itapeva is 2,030 meters above sea level, and the top offers one of the most beautiful views of Serra da Mantiqueira, with 15 cities in the region visible. The route also cuts through Campos do Jordão Park, created in 1941. The place features exuberant nature and various ecotourism activities.

The trail is carried out on a dirt track, starting to the east of the city of Campos do Jordão, covering steep roads, descents and elevations. The route passes through stretches of forest within the Serra da Mantiqueira Environmental Protection Area, offering a great diversity of trees and animals, and fantastic views of the region.

This trail goes towards Pico do Itapeva. The route is approximately 22 km round trip, with an average of 9 km of strong ascent. The view from the top is worth the effort. Itapeva Lake is the highest in the region and perhaps the highest source of the Piracuama River. From Pico do Itapeva, you can see several cities in the Paraíba valley.
