This hike begins in Domme, a village elected among the Most Beautiful Villages in France. This bastide, built in 1281 by the King of France Philippe III the Bold, has a defensive system that has been preserved. The ramparts are still in place as well as the three gates giving access to the city. The Porte des Tours is the most visited because of the graffiti left by imprisoned Templars. The route partly runs along the Dordogne and passes through the Trou de l'Arc and the Château de Caudon.
