The start of the course is located at the Château de la Garde-Guérin and passes through the Roure and Albespeyres. Shortly after the start of the hike, you can reach the Chassezac belvedere to admire the view. Then you will cross the Chassezac gorges before reaching the Roure and its castle.

This hike at the gates of the Cévennes National Park starts from Lac de Villefort in the Mont Lozère Massif. The hilly path leads hikers above the Gorges du Chassezac. These narrow gorges offer breathtaking views. This route punctuated by hamlets and villages alternates forest, pastures and built heritage.

The GRP® Tour du Chassezac is a 47km hike in stages that overlooks the river and the Chassezac gorges. This hike crosses sumptuous landscapes of the Cévennes National Park. This second stage starts from Albespeyres in Lozère and connects Villefort in the Massif du Mont Lozère. Along the way, hikers will discover the Château du Roure, the Chassezac Gorges, the Borne Valley and Pied-de-Borne.
