There's a community garden along this trail that explains the various plants as well as several art walk fences. The Calgary Canoe Club provides opportunities for various paddle sports as well.

There is a great trail system in Weaselhead Flats consisting of main paved trails and smaller off-shoot natural trails for pedestrians only. Dogs are not allowed on some of the main paved trails but are welcome on all the other ones. Lots of the side trails can be muddy or icy depending on the season.

The Elbow River Pathway starting from the golf course is a great walkway along Calgary's Elbow River. Other segments of this route also take you through the elegant neighbourhood of Elboya. This path can be started almost anywhere along its length. It finishes at the Bow River, where other pathways extend off, for those looking for more time outside. The finishing point will offer views of Saint Patrick's Island, a popular park just outside the heart of downtown Calgary.
