To get to the trailhead, continue along the road until you see the fork to Hurley about 100m past the point where google maps stops working. Drive up this past the 14km mark and then park at the pullout to the left, right beside the trailhead. The trail is steep and technical with lots of rocks/roots/mud to navigate. After crossing to the other side of the gravel parking lot the trail starts to ascend gradually with the view of the lake and mountain on one side. The bench about halfway up is a decent view of the lake, but if you continue you will get a better view of the canyon. If you keep to the left of the trail you will work your way to the viewpoint that shows the iconic bend in the road. It will require you to climb up some rocks at the last part, but it is not difficult and the path is clear....
