Erosion is a big concern on this hike; It is fairly easy to do in dry weather as long as you are cautious, but be prepared for the weather as it can change very quickly, especially on or near the Ridgeline. One thing to consider is the effect of fog since it can obscure trails that are hard to find. It is recommended to download the offline map to help navigate the tricky off-trail section at the top.

Wedding Cake Hill, summit elevation 2777 feet above sea level. This hill can be seen from all over Gold Canyon and the surrounding area, has two horizontal rock bands that give it a multi level shape. The summit has great views in all directions. The Turks Cap is a ramp shaped peak, south of Superstition Mountain. It is located on a nice dessert hike heading east on Lost Goldmine trail from the Hieroglyphic Trail head. Scramble up Turks Cap from west to east, to the summit (approx 2800 ft). Rock cairns are sparse down low but are easier to locate as you gain elevation up the Turks Cap.
