This route follows the river and leads to the series of scenic waterfalls. The route features some nice changes in elevation, with rocks and roots on the path. Downloading the map in advance is recommended, since the trail markings are weak in this area of Algonquin Provincial Park. Navigation apps can have difficulty getting to the trailhead. It is recommended to search for "Achray Access Point".

This route goes around the perimeter of Silent Lake. It is a challenging journey over rugged terrain, so it is suggested to bring a good water supply. The park opens May 13 and closes on March 26. The trails are well-marked, with both directional signage as well as kilometre markers. You will be passing through some swamplands, so wearing water-resistant footwear is recommended.

The loop starts from the busy day-use area that includes a few camping spots that can be reserved in advance. The trails are very well-marked here, and they are well-maintained. Most of the loop will take you along the lake, and there are a few great views and benches to relax at. Much of the loop will be very muddy in spring after the winter melt, and the trails are open for winter snowshoeing.

The trailhead is located to the west of the main parking area along the Lakeshore Trail. Overall, the route follows an awesome moderately difficult trail with lots of characteristics, lookouts, streams and wildlife. Hikers recommend bringing lots of water, since much of the route has no access to potable water and during the summer, there will be plenty of heat and mosquitos.
