This trail will bring you to the peak of Folding Mountain. The trailhead is located next to Yellowhead Highway, across the road there is a parking lot as well as washrooms. The trek up Folding Mountain follows a well marked trail, with the first few kilometres being a steep wooded trail, after that it levels out and you walk along the mountain ridge with some nice views. Along the ridge section, there are two false summits that will have some great views, and then you will move onto the scree...

The trail begins in the picturesque town of Brule, just outside of Hinton. At the trailhead in town, you start by passing through a gate onto a rough road. This is the first of three gates. The road leads to Solomon Creek / Rock Lake / Wildland Provincial Park. It’s about 7k of road before you meet an actual trail. Driving this road is possible only with a serious 4-wheel drive off-road vehicle. The mud holes are so large, deep, and numerous, that the road is often difficult even for mountain...

This trail heads up a somewhat steep slope to a beautiful lookout at the top of the hill. There are several trails to the top of the hill that all lead the same way. There's an incredible view of Roche Miette and the old Pocahontas Mine site which is now overgrown with moss. The trail off to the right leads to Punch Bowl Falls. In summertimes, there are a couple nice views but there is quite a lot of blow over that hasn't been cleared. On the Lower Loop portion of the trail there is a little...

Miette Hot Springs is a quick, short trail. This is an excellent option for beginner hikers looking to get out, as most people find this to be more of a pleasant nature walk than a hike. The route follows the creek the whole way, and you get to see the source of the springs at the finish. This trail is paved the entire way, so it's great for the whole family with a stroller. You can use this path during wintertime. Just make sure to have spikes or poles since the path can quickly become...

This loop is for very experienced hikers as it involves scrambling, route-finding, and bushwhacking on the way down. Don’t recommend hiking the rest of the way back to the parking lot through the forest along the spur. While you can’t get “lost”, this is not an official Parks Canada Trail, and requires some bush walking, and some steep sections causing severe erosion. Do not attempt the loop unless you are sure footed have a map downloaded and are comfortable navigating with no trail. There...
