This stupendous trail takes you to through Gir National Park which is the home to the Asiatic lions. Since the naming of Gir as a national park, the number of lions in this area has doubled. Although to enter this park one has to take permission from the authorities prior to the journey, taking guides and safari is a must.

This dam was built in the year 1959 specifically for irrigation purposes on the Hiran River in Visavadar, Gujarat, India. It lies in the Gir National Park and hence has excellent biodiversity in terms of flora and fauna. This park is known for the population of Asiatic lions that reside in this area. Since 2005 a massive growth in the lion population has been seen almost double the amount since then. Although for entering the forest area one has to take permission from the authority.
