This trail is maintained regularly by volunteers from the Historic Rivers Chapter of the Virginia Master Naturalists. It is well marked out and back with orange discs and has interpretative signage for self-guided nature walks. A very easy trail - paved and gentle all the way. There is a three-mile loop and a five-mile loop to choose from. The area is mostly wooded or marsh - bring insect repellent in season. This route can also be driven in a motor vehicle. This means if choosing to navigate this trail with mobility equipment such as a stroller or wheelchair you will be sharing the space with one-way vehicle traffic.
