The off-limits area is marked with waypoints in the map. This is the 96km route for teams competing in the Gold Coast Kokoda Challenge. A gentle family friendly trail around Varsity Lakes in south east Queensland, located not too far south from the centre of the Gold Coast. This looped route begins and ends from the parking area of the South Bay shopping complex of South Bay Drive. From here it's a short walk along the flat pathways on the shoreline of the water.

This shared path that runs alongs the lake's foreshore that is near the Gold Coast. The path is a mix of paths and boardwalks provides a safe route for cyclists and walkers. so is a great way of commuting on bike or foot between spots along the route. A great spot for all the family A variety of facilities are found along the way including public toilets, parks with picnic areas and cafes. It also connects with other similar paths in the area.

In the Reedy Creek area south of the Gold Coast is this small network of single-track trails in a nice forest setting. This route is primarily used as a mountain biking route although walking is also allowed. There are many intersecting trails in the forest here, and many of them are not well-signed so having the app on hand can help keep you on track. Keep your head up on the Drop Bear Trail and enjoy fun berms and jump lines through the forest.

This is a peaceful and flat trail around Emerald Lakes overlooking the water that is ideal for bird watching. For a longer route, cross the bridge and follow the perimeter trail of the two islands in the centre of the lakes. The community around Emerald Lakes is wonderful, and frequently uses these paths for running and walking. The paved surfaces make it doable for families with strollers/prams and the views delight people of all ages. This is a nice surprise for anyone in the Gold Coast...
