This well-marked track follows the beach, crosses the road bridge at Te Haumi Stream, and then passes into coastal bush covered terrain. After the bridge, follow the Te Araroa Pathway sign. This track ends the Opua Ferry landing. To continue onto the Okiato to Russell Walkway, take the ferry from Opua to Okiato on the Russell Peninsular.

This is a nice little climb to get the heart pumping (ca 80% uphill). The track will take you through regenerating forest to the Paihia Lookout where you'll enjoy stunning views of Waitangi, islands of Paihia (Motumairie), and the Russell Peninsula. It's a well-formed track with nice scenery along the way.

Park at the end of Te Wahapu Road. This track can only be accessed at mid-to-low tide.

This is a beautiful walk alongside the Waitangi River. It will take you from Waitangi to Haruru Falls. Haruru means “big noise” in translation. If you visit the waterfall after heavy rain you'll hear the water long before. It's a lovely track through a forest and some wetlands with a grove of mangroves. A car park is available at the trailhead.

This coastal track can start from the Okiato ferry landing or at the picnic area at Pipiroa Beach. The track follows native bush, wetland flats, and a boardwalk. It can be made into a loop with the Paihia to Opua walkway. If you wish to head back to Paihai from Russell, take the ferry from Russell.
