This hike of about 8 kilometers leaves from the Vallorcine station and leads to the Col des Montets. This Col is easy to access, except for the last 400 m at 7.5% which will nevertheless be quickly negotiated. You will retrace your steps through the valley to the starting point of Vallorcine. You will be able to appreciate varied landscapes between forest and river.

Here is a beautiful hike in the French Alps on the border with Switzerland, starting from the mountain village of Vallorcine in the upper Eau Noire valley, where you will discover the Barberine waterfall. Before arriving at this superb waterfall, you will pass by the museum of La Maison du Barberine. It is open in July and August. Shade, a torrent, a waterfall and breathtaking views await you on this Haute-Savoie route.

View of the Swiss mountains. Passage near the refuge Loriaz. Beautiful passages in the woods. Small hollow roads at the end of the course with very pretty stone walls.

The Chalets de Loriaz is a former alpine pasture chalet now transformed into a mountain refuge. It is located at an altitude of 2020m, in the heart of the Aiguilles Rouges. This walk will offer you magnificent views of the Aiguille Verte and the Mont Blanc massif. You can even stay overnight at the refuge to extend your trip.
