This is a slightly longer variation to the summit of Mount Cooroora in Tuchekoi National Park. Departing from the edge of Stan Topper Park in the town of Pomona, follow a well-defined path the base of the mountain. The trail is rocky and requires some steep scrambling and climbing up a few short sections of metal steps. The best time to attempt this hike is in the cooler hours of the day, and it will often be too hot for comfort in the midday sun. The reward for climbing is an unbelievable...

Very enjoyable trail with a bit of everything following the Mount Cooroora Hiking Trail. Starts out straightforward but gradually gets more difficult as the dirt trail turns to rock and the path becomes steeper with a scramble to the top. The chain helps but hands and good shoes are also necessary. It is recommended to bring gloves and extra water. Well worth the effort as there are great views that span the full 360 degrees when you reach up top. It can take a couple of hours to climb to...

The path is overgrown and the erosion means you are walking over roots and rocks most of the way, which makes the down almost as slow going as the up. The views on the way up are stunning, continuing to the second peak is well worth it as there is a beautiful eastern view from the rock outcrops. Hiking boots are recommended for this trail and walking poles wouldn't be a bad idea for those looking for...

A short but challenging hike, with steep climbs for those seeking a workout near Eerwah Vale, Queensland. Due to it being steep and rocky the trail can easily get slippery with a little rain. Do not stop at the peak but keep going to get to the best views which are from two lovely rocks, one on each high point of the saddle. It is well worth the extra time. You definitely need hiking boots and you have to be very careful when descending. Red Dog may decide to "guide" you up to the...
