This is an ideal trail for finding a quiet place to think - located in northwest Tasmania just outside of Devonport on Tommeginne land. It is a moderately challenging climb to the summit of Mount Montgomery, but features beautiful views overlooking the Dial Ranges once at the top. The trail can be taken as a circuit, or in variations as there is a well-formed network of trails in the area that are popular for mountain biking, which can also be used by walkers.

Iron Tor is an iconic MTB track located in the sensational Mount Montgomery State Reserve in northern Tasmania. This adrenaline-pumping trail embraces a solid leg-pumping climb to the summit where you can enjoy a well-deserved break before your epic long descent back to the starting point. The descent is packed with berms and boulders and is a fantastic chance to practice those downhill skills on. The track starts and ends at Penguin-Cradle Track Car Park, get out there and enjoy!

This is a short and leafy walk through a lavish fern jungle and the picturesque McBrides Creek. You will first get to the brownings tunnel that you can’t go into but keep walking and you will get to a sign to turn left to the Throsby Tunnel. The tunnel can feel creepy but is a cool experience.
