This loop starts by going up along the Hazel River. You cross the river a few times, so it is probably best not to do this hike right after large amounts of rain. After the summit, you will descend on Sam's Ridge Trail. Trekking poles are nice to have for the water crossings. The trail begins along Woodward Road/Route 600.

Begin from the Meadow Spring Parking Area along Skyline Drive and begin following the Hazel Mountain Trail downhill. The last section of the trail is very steep. There are two caves near the falls. One is obvious, and the second is closer to the first pool of water. This is a good swimming spot during the summer months.
