This very pleasant route through the Alto Appennino Modenese Regional Park leads up to the ridge on the border between Emilia-Romagna and Tuscany. The first ascent is very slow and gradual up to the Feminamorta peak (1878m) passing through Foce a Giovo (1664m). From this point you quickly descend to the starting point, partly on an asphalted road, passing through Lake Piatto.

This is a beautiful excursion that takes place on part of the Great Apennine Excursion (GEA) with arrival at Lago Nero and possible stop at the Lago Nero Refuge (1731m) with bivouac always open. The basin of this lake is formed by the excavation of an ancient glacier and surrounded by imposing Apennine mountains that reach 2000m, in particular Alpe Tre Potenze (1,940m). This is a very pleasant path in the Modena High Apennine Park to immerse yourself in a rich and dense nature with streams. The final destination is Lake Santo Modenese where there are also numerous refuges such as the Giovo Refuge, the Bara Refuge, the Marchetti Refuge (1505m) and the Vittoria Refuge (1504m).
