This trail starts next to the saffron museum and goes up the Stigwasser river and then the Mundbach. Then the path goes in the direction of the Wyssa river back to Mund. Perfect for a family outing in a beautiful region. Mund is the only place in Switzerland where, following centuries of tradition, the precious saffron spice is still grown today

From Mund, head on a gentle descent down the valley to Eggerberg. Here, climb for a short distance to follow the "Gorperi-Suone" (open water channel). At its source in the Baltschiedertal, change to the "Niwärch-Suone" water channel and follow it to Niwärch. From Ausserberg, the high-altitude trail leads along the south ramp of the Lötschberg railway past Hohtenn to the destination at Gampel/Steg. Great hike via several bisses with views of the Rhone Valley and its river. The route starts in Brig in Upper Valais and goes in the direction of Visp via Mund, crosses Eggeberg and ends in Aussberg. The paths are great and nature is omnipresent with a lot of forest and mountains that are everywhere. Parts of the route are rather steep but always just a pleasure.

The route begins in Birgisch towards the mouth and then down into the valley. After the underpass of the railway line, other paths can also be chosen to continue into the valley, as the final section chosen here is quite steep.
