The Umfassungsweg is an official walking route around the Twickel estate. Historic hiking trail over Estate Twickel near Delden, past the castle, through the woods and various outbuildings. The history of Estate Twickel goes back at least to 1347 when Herman van Twickelo bought the Eysinck house. The purchase contract is the first document in which the estate is mentioned. Over the centuries, the estate was further expanded. The current castle, where the route starts, has parts dating back to the 16th century. The building endured several construction phases....

Fantastic trail from Delden train station around the Twickel estate. The route takes you to various highlights of the estate. Via Deldeneresch you walk to the viewpoint. Then you cross the heathland via the boardwalk, along the Twickelervaart the route continues to the watermill. After a nice stretch through the woods, you end the walk with a visit to Twickel Castle.

Round trip between Delden and Deldeneresch, through the farmlands north of Delden. At Deldeneresch you pass groups of farms. You then enter the more wooded areas of the Twickel estate. Here you pass the Dikke Steen, a large boulder. You then walk on to the Twickelervaart, where you visit the water mill located in the river. Last, you pass Twickel Castle itself and take a tour of the surrounding gardens.
