Circular walk from the Emmen district of Bargeres to the Noordbargerbos. You leave the built-up area walking along the canal. You walk to the northernmost edge of the forest, from where you enter the woods. In the Noordbargerbos you visit the three small heaths that are located in the woods. Along the way you will come across some picnic spots in the forest.

The yellow marked trail of the Noordbargerbos leads through the northern part of the woods. Winding paths lead you through one of the oldest forests in the area. Both pine and deciduous trees grow here. During the walk you also pass two moors and a small grassland. There are no restaurants on the route.

This is route 185 of the Groene Wissel walks and starts in the pleasant center of Emmen. From here you walk through the characteristic Drenthe farm village of Westenesch on quiet asphalt roads and forest paths along the first two dolmen. Then you arrive in the forest Valtherbos where the walk is exclusively on country roads and forest paths. Here you will pass four dolmen, seven burial mounds and a cave where people lived in hiding during the Second World War.
