A Groene Wissel through nature between Odoorn and Exloo. The trail passes through a wide variety of landscapes. The route takes you through agricultural fields to the shifting sands of the Odoornerzand and the heaths of the Molenveld. The walk is also dominated by prehistoric history and you pass several millennia-old burial mounds.

Walking route starting from the heart of Odoorn to the varied nature north of the village. The first half of the route runs over the Molenveld, through an alternation of forests and heaths. Then you cross the road and walk into the forestry of Odoorn. Here you first make a stop at Pools Hoogte, the tea house and the watchtower located in the woods. The last part of the walk is a quiet forest walk.

The Schoonmeer route is a blue marked trail from Staatsbosbeheer. It is a nice quiet walk through the woods, along two lakes. In winter one of the lakes is used as a natural ice rink. This is one of the more popular lakes in forestry Odoorn. There is a picnic area at the starting point.

Then you walk on to the Schapenpark, the extensive heathland located in the middle of the woods. Here you will encounter herds of grazing sheep and Shetland ponies.

You walk through wonderfully peaceful surroundings, past some of the most beautiful spots of the Odoornerdennen. Explore the area in a short but beautiful walk on winding paths.
