There is an unmarked pedestrian entrance on Del Prado Boulevard, which connects to the trails in this park. The Yellow Fever Creek Preserve Trail can be done as an out and back or as a loop. The trail is sandy in some areas which can make hiking a bit more challenging.

The majority of this hike is along a sandy trail, which passes by dunes and through flatland ecosystems. This trail is great for horseback riding and there is very little traffic on these trails. There are sections along the boardwalk that can be narrow at certain points.
