Located in north Lee County, Yellow Fever Creek preserve is mostly pine flatwoods and features views of the Yellow Fever Creek. There is an unmarked pedestrian entrance on Del Prado Boulevard, which connects to the trails in this park. The Yellow Fever Creek Preserve Trail can be done as an out and back or as a loop. The trail is sandy in some areas which can make hiking a bit more challenging.

The trails can be overgrown at certain times of the year which can make navigating more challenging. The majority of this hike is along a sandy trail, which passes by dunes and through flatland ecosystems. This trail is great for horseback riding and there is very little traffic on these trails. There are sections along the boardwalk that can be narrow at certain points.

This route includes all of the trails available at Caloosahatchee Creeks Preserve. Start by taking the Live Oak Trail which then connects to the East River Loop Trail. The majority of the route is along this trail. There are great viewpoints of the river along the way and many opportunities to observe local wildlife. Finish the loop by walking the SweetBay and Fetterbush Trail.

This is a beautiful paved and boardwalk trail that showcases the best views here at Caloosahatchee Creek. Accessibility: There are 2 designated accessible spaces in the paved parking lot off of McSpadden Road at the north end of the trail. Both of them are van-accessible with striped access aisles. This is a short loop that travels through a variety of environments. There is both shade and sun along the route and a mix of sand and boardwalk trails. The trail can become muddy during wet conditions and waterproof shoes are recommended. For those wishing to extend their hike, check out the East River Loop to add distance.
