This is a great area to explore for those who want to see manatees in the area. While it is a short route, there are plenty of sights to see and wildlife in the area to observe. The boardwalk is nice and shaded which makes traveling here in the summer pleasant. There is also public dock access located at this trailhead for kayaks and canoes.

This route consists of a combination of trails. Starting on the Blue Heron Trail, the route then connects to the Otter Trail on the east portion of the area. From here, the trail takes an old dirt road to loop back to the start of the route. Most of the path is exposed to the sun with little shade. There is an abundance of wildlife in the area to observe.

This route starts by crossing over a few bridges and boardwalks to connect to the Blue Heron Trail. Along this trail, there are a couple of different observation platforms where visitors can observe wildlife from a safe distance. The route then connects to the Gopher Tortoise Trail which winds back to the parking lot.
