This is an amazing trail which can be fun no matter what time of year you're planning to visit. In the winter, you can bring the family to go snowshoeing, and when the snow melts, you can hike up to the top of Mount Royal, gain a thousand feet or so in elevation, and enjoy some gorgeous mountain meadow views along the way.
