Travel through a dense forest of old-growth oak trees in the heart of Gainesville. This family-friendly hike is easy and flat, which makes for a quick and convenient way to get outside. The trail travels alongside Hogtown Creek and it is not advised to wade in the creek due to contaminants found in the runoff.

This trail is entirely in a forest with a thick canopy and is protected from the sun. The stream on the east side is pleasant and clear with a footbridge to get across. around to complete the west side of the preserve. There are not many views along the trail, however, there are many opportunities to view wildlife and wildflowers.

There are many spur trails along the way and downloading the offline map is recommended to navigate. There is a mix of both sunny and shady portions of the trail.
