This paved pathway eventually connects with the Depot Avenue Rail Trail and there are many places to hop off or get on the route along the way.

This trail is entirely in a forest with a thick canopy and is protected from the sun. The stream on the east side is pleasant and clear with a footbridge to get across. around to complete the west side of the preserve. There are not many views along the trail, however, there are many opportunities to view wildlife and wildflowers.

The majority of this hike is along a sandy trail, which passes by dunes and through flatland ecosystems.
