Ideal for families, strollers, small bikes, wheelchairs. This walk on Hendaye runs along the right bank of the Bidassoa, which forms the border between France and Spain. The island of the Pheasants is the link. This relaxing and well-equipped course also runs along the artisanal zone of Les Joncaux. From the shore we can see the ecological park of Plaiaundi, Irun and the Pyrenees.
Activities
Features
Before reaching the city centre of Hendaye, you can walk along the left bank of the Bidasoa River. This allows you to go along the island of the Pheasants and walk through the river's preserved marshes. Return to France via the Saint-Jacques bridge, the Pierre Loti house, then along the bay of Chingoudy. After the port, surfers share the large beach of Hendaye with the swimmers.
Activities
Features
Cycle route along the Bidasoa river, which passes through an alternation of tarred cycle paths and gravel paths, on the Franco-Spanish border. A mountain bike is therefore the best option for riding on this old railway line and discovering the town of Bera and its medieval bridge on the way.
Activities
Features
This route starts in the center of Irún, from the Azkenportu neighborhood and goes up paths with many forests until it reaches the Aiako Harria Natural Park. The route also passes several bars where you can have a drink. Most of the tour will be on wide paths or paved or dirt roads.
Activities
Features
A very rich and varied walk despite its short distance. You will move from the city to the privacy of the marsh areas of the Bidasoa River. A great way to go from France to Spain, via the Saint-Jacques bridge, also used, as its name suggests, by pilgrims on their way to Compostela.
