This trail is really nice with his huge lava field and it's surrounded by a lot of birch trees that protect you from the wind. It's a nice area to discover raw nature. Amazing views of the surrounding mountains. It's really close to the gorgeous town of Húsavík.

Blamannshattur which means blue man's hatis the highest and one of only a few easily accessible summits in the group of mountains on the east side of Eyjafjörður. There is a path which goes up through the fields on the west side of the farm and then through some scrubby birch trees to the foot of the SE ridge. It's recommended to ask the permission to cross the field of the farmer. The last section is really rocky and can have snow or ice in the summer time.
