This is a nice wide trail that parallels a brook at points. Sections of the trail have been reported to have some loose rocks, so good footwear is encouraged. The views from the summit of the surrounding mountains are great and it is a short detour to North Doublehead where visitors will find an old cabin.

This loop begins starting on the ski trail and leads to the old path. From the summit of North Doublehead, head south to the summit of South Doublehead. Back over time north Doublehead and down the ski trail. From the summit, there are great views of Mt. Washington and the surrounding White Mountains on a clear day.
