The trail starts in the small village of Les Marecottes. This place can also be reached by public train. Then one crosses the forest until after the tree line to the top of the Le Luisin peak. One reaches the 2786m after a steep climb and from there is able to enjoy the view. A fantastic circular walk in the Rhone Valley near Martigny. The path starts in Les Marécottes and leads on paved mountain roads, through an idyllic forest via Van d'en Haut to the beautiful Lac de Salanfe (1908 m). Here you cross the dam and continue hiking up to the Col d'Emaney (2462 m), the highest point of this route. The path then leads past the Alpage d'Emaney and back to Les Marécottes.

Follow the Chemin de la Cretaz path until you reach Fenestral and then go a little further to the Lac d'Emosson reservoir. There you can take a break before going back to the beginning or you can take the Barberine-Col de la Gueulaz cable car down into the valley to Barberine. .
