Campanile Martigny

Very nice outing along the Rhone from the town of Martigny to reach Evionnaz and Saint-Maurice. The return can be done via SBB trains. The Rhone river is at the heart of this outing because the route follows it in its direction to Saint-Maurice in the canton of Valais. The Via Francigena is a multi-day route that crosses Switzerland crossing the Jura and the Alps. It offers a varied landscape and certainly the most spectacular stages. This section is located in the Swiss canton of Valais and starts from the town of Martigny to go up to the village of Orsières. The higher you go, the more the region becomes very alpine.

A beautiful, short circular hike near Martigny in the Rhone Valley. The path begins in Les Guières at the Café-Restaurant de Plan-Cerisier and initially leads along the banks of the Dranse to the Château de la Bâtiaz.
