This is a fairly steep and rocky trail that crosses some streams and "Waterdog Creek" (twice) before leading to a few scenic lakes beneath the Continental Divide. The first (and largest) lake, Waterdog, is named for the Tiger Salamander (Ambystoma tigrinum) or “waterdog” and offers great views of Bald Mountain and Banana Mountain to the north.

A fun hike out to the top of Mount Shavano, which stands at 14,158 feet above sea level. This is a steep route which tasks hikers with a very decent amount of elevation gain over the length of the trail. Make sure you’re prepared for a challenging workout, and bring plenty of water and sun protection.

This is a very fun hike to a spectacular waterfall. The hike has plenty of variety that will keep your interest including meadows, pine, and aspen forest. You will be treated to many views of Mt Antero, and even get to test your balance by crossing Browns Creek via small log bridges. Parts of the trail are sandy or have loose rock, so be prepared to get dusty, and you will likely waste some energy on the soft ground. Perfect choice for a short, moderate day hike. Gorgeous falls set deep in the side of Mt Princeton. From the trailhead it is easy to find the well labeled trail that will lead you up to the falls. Though this trail is short, it does gain a fair amount of elevation, so take your time. Bring water as well, since this area is very arid and the valley can get pretty hot in the summer. When you near the falls you will likely see signs not to climb around on the rocks or approach the falls to closely as rock fall is a common occurrence here....
