Around the Cape of the Netherlands. A long journey that starts in a very varied way in the Wierddorp Spijk. Pass the most northern village of the mainland in the Netherlands: Oudeschip. The name refers to a stranded ship (1760) from which a house was built. The walk continues to the huge harbor complex of Eemshaven. After the port complex, walk across the long dike to the west and pass the North Cape of the Netherlands. A greek monument by Réné de Boer marks the place.

A tour around and through the village of Leermens. Leermens is an ancient wierde village. The first settlement here probably arose around the beginning of the Common Era. The first time the village is mentioned in documents is already in the 10th century. Even though parts were excavated around 1910, you can still see the steep edges of the mound. Round trip between Oosterwijtwerd and Eenum. The route runs along the waters of the Eenumermaar and the Leermenstermaar. The route is on tarmac paths and is ideal for a run.

Vier Groninger Dorpen ("Foru Groningen Villages") is walk 77 of the Groene Wissel walking routes. Starting in Loppersum, you walk across the Groningen landscape through the villages of Eenum, Zeerijp and Westeremden. All villages have beautiful churches with towers that are usually open to climb and you pass a historic windmill. In Westeremden you will pass museum De Weem, an exhibition space in a beautiful monumental building.
