When you think of hiking in Orange County, you don't usually envision dramatic waterfalls. But during the spring, there are a number of wonderful seasonal waterfalls that are just a hike away. One of the best is Chiquito Falls. This seasonal falls doesn't run all year, so your best bet is to visit during the rainier months. Expect a single-track trail with some creek crossings. There is little shade, so it is a good idea to pack plenty of water and prepare accordingly during warmer months.

Parking for this trail is located directly across from the Ortega Oaks Candy Store in the San Juan Loop parking lot. You will need an Adventure Pass (annual pass or a daily pass per vehicle) in order to park in the lot. The Bear Canyon Loop trailhead begins a few yards west of the candy store. The views from the top are amazing!

This is more of a paved road, but it makes a great place for a quick run, a beautiful hike with friends and family, or for taking your dog for a walk. Though it is not a long trail, the amazing views of Riverside make this paved trail a popular place. There is an American Flag and a Cross at the top. Bring sunscreen or a hat.
