This is a beautiful mountain hike very close to town. It's quite a steep but beautiful hike on an old trail that goes through the forest and beautiful cultural landscape. The road to Nysætra follows a shepherd's path before the final climb to the summit. From Mefjellet you have a fantastic view of the Norddalsfjord and the surrounding villages and mountains.

Mefjellet is the great classic here on Fjørå. Exposed steep high mountain driving, flow paths, technical forest paths, rocky old farm roads. All this with fantastic views of the Tafjord.

Grøtet near Eidsdalen rises 1519 m above Synnylvsfjord and is the highest point where the fjord divides into Sunnylvsfjord and Norddalsfjord. The area around Grøtet offers many great hiking opportunities. On the north side of Grøtet, the snow stays for until late spring and still offers good snow conditions for skiing. The entire tour passes through the UNESCO World Heritage West Norwegian Fjord Landscape. From the summit you have an unparalleled view of mountains and fjords.
