The trail leads from Veli Lošinj to the church of St. Ivan at the very top of the hill Kalvarija (234 m). The church was built by Antonio Sforzina in 1755 as a votive chapel of his family. The trail passes through the arranged Way of the Cross (via crucis) with three simple chapels and wooden crosses as stations. Near the church are preserved the remains of a simple stone hut - a hermitage that was inhabited from 1807 to 1834.

The trail continues towards the southwestern part of the island and the wooded Krivica Bay protected from the winds. On the way back, the trail leads the same way, and the ascent is a bit less demanding.
