Walk around the Cassière fishing lake, in the Regional Natural Park of the Volcanoes of Auvergne, near the city of Clermont-Ferrand. The lake is of natural origin, and it was born after the volcanic eruption of the Puys de la Vache and Lassolas. Please note that swimming in the lake is prohibited.

The Puys de Lassolas et de la Vache are part of the chain of Puys, in the Massif Central and are located southwest of Clermont-Ferrand. These are two (extinct) volcanoes born from a single eruptive episode. Their lava flows is called cheire d'Aydat: it has created, by barring valleys, various lakes including Lac de la Cassière to the north and Lake Aydat to the south in the valley of the Veyre. This walk will allow you to enjoy magnificent panoramic views over part of the Auvergne landscape.

Hike partly in the forest in the Parc naturel régional des Volcans d'Auvergne, which passes around several volcanoes of the Chaîne des Puys, including the Puy de Mercoeur (1,249 meters above sea level), the Puy de Cocuset (1 094 meters above sea level) and the Puy de la Vache (1,167 meters above sea level), in the department of Puy-de-Dôme.

This hike is located in the Auvergne Volcanoes Regional Natural Park and starts near Puy de la Vache. The route passes through the Montlosier pond and the Montlosier castle. This course also bypasses several puys such as: - the Fallateuf (1015 m altitude) - the Puy de Vichatel (1094 m) - the Puy de Charmont (1138 m)
