Grave Mills Yellow Trail is a nice trail with lots of great fishing and swimming spots. At the end of the trail is another trailhead that is connected to a vehicle road. There are a number of decent camping spots along the way. This trail is best for people who want to do a day hike or go swimming or fishing.

Begin from the Graves Mill Parking Area which is just on the park boundary. Follow the Graves Mill Trail to the Staunton River Trail. This follows along the river and then meets the Jones Mountain Trail, follow this up to Bear Church Rock Overlook. The short offshoot at the top leads to Jones Mountain Cabin.

Your climb to the peak includes many rocky switchbacks, so you will not be going straight up, but the trails are still at a steep grade. Begin from the Old Rag Lot off Nethers Rd/Route 600. This is a long, steady climb to the summit of the most notable peak in Shenandoah National Park. Sections of the trail are very rocky, so wearing shoes with good traction is recommended. An early start is highly encouraged since this hike is very busy during the spring through fall.
