The trailhead can be hard to find. The best place to park is by the Y, then walking to the front of the elementary school, and finding the trail sign behind the fence across from the school's main entrance. Walk to the right of the sign until you see steps going down which will lead you to the start of the trail. After crossing the footbridge, cross the street and continue on Pershing St before turning right to the start of the trail.

The "natural bridge" for which the park is named, according to geologists, is 550 million year old bedrock marble, carved into an arch by the force of glacial melt water over 13,000 years ago; one of the best places in New England to demonstrate the effects of glaciation. Located off Rte 8. Hours for Natural Bridge State Park Memorial Day through Columbus Day Sunday - Saturday: 9:00 am-4:30 pm
