If you're looking for a nice challenging trail at Beaver Creek Resort, this trail is for you. This route as mapped here is an out and back trail that goes almost straight up, a ton of elevation gain. If you'd like a shorter hike without the hike down, take the trail up and use the gondola down for free.

This trail starts out on pavement and users will need to follow the Five Senses Trail to Beaver Creek Trail. It is uphill the whole way, but the views make it all worth it. The second half of the trail is more rocky and the climb is less steep. Users will arrive at Pristine Mountain Lake in the Holy Cross Wilderness. This is a lovely, uphill hike with some heavy elevation gain over a moderate length trail. Parts of the trail are forested, offering hikers some shade and chances to see wildlife, but the higher up you go in elevation, the sparser tree cover becomes, so be prepared with a hat and sunscreen if you burn easily. From the lookout point at Lionshead Rock, hikers can enjoy some great views, then either turn back to the trailhead or continue on down the the trail.

This is one of the more popular trails in the area, so it is suggested that visitors carpool when coming to the trailhead. The trail itself is relatively level, compared to some of the trails in the surrounding area, so this can be a good hike to do if you're not looking for a super intense workout with a ton of elevation gain.

If you do this hike while the gondola is running, you can choose to skip either the uphill or downhill portions of the hike by taking the gondola. However, the hike is an enjoyable out and back as well. Hikers can enjoy some incredible views on this trail, whether they choose to hike in one or both directions.
