This track passes through the Molonglo Gorge Recreation Reserve, Jerrabomberra Wetlands and Lower Molonglo Nature Reserve as part of the Murrumbidgee catchment. Non-native deciduous species fill this track with attractive colour displays in autumn. Gorgeous views of Lake Burley Griffin exist at all points around this track. Starting and parking options are plentiful, but the most efficient area to begin is the car park at Acton Park.

A great option if you're looking for a trail leaving from the Australian National University in Canberra, ACT. This out and back loop begins near the parking area just off Dickson Road and explores the Black Mountain Peninsular District Park. The park is surrounded by the Molonglo River, offering scenic views out over the water to some of Canberra's iconic buildings and suburbs. A great lesser known trail through the east side of Black Mountain Nature Reserve, located in Canberra. This looped route begins from the parking area just off Christian Road. This route along wide dirt trails is in the northern part of the reserve part and does not have much climbing at any point, so is perfect for trail-running or mountain biking. This area is the most diverse of Canberra’s nature parks, home to 100s of species of birds and plants, plus 1000s of insect species. There are also amazing wildflowers in warmer months. Variations to make your trip longer can be made with the nearby tracks that link up with it.

This is a stellar walk around Lake Burley Griffin in the heart of Canberra in the ACT. There are multiple access points from parks along the lake and near the Parliament House and Gallery areas. As shown, the route follows the Bridge to Bridge paths beginning in Commonwealth Park. The walk extends off the shores of the lake to visit the grounds around the Parliament House and visits the National Portrait Gallery and the National Gallery of Australia before rejoining the path around the lake....
