The perfect route for Canberra north siders to make their regular. This one has a bit of everything - lake views, suburban footpaths, fun for your dog and a bit of a workout up Reservoir Hill in Lawson. Beginning from the Lake Ginninderra Dog Park on Diddams Close, the trail takes you on a circuit, along mostly paved surfaces. There's not much shade on this one - be sure to bring water!

Starting from Lake Ginninderra Dog Park this walk is a lovely stroll around a tranquil lake in Canberra. The route follows a mostly paved path along the lakes banks taking in beautiful scenery with some birdlife thrown in for good measure. Visitors are likely to spots ducks and black swans paddling across the water as well as plenty of other water birds enjoying the lake and its surrounds. Parking is available near the trailhead. Here visitors will also find a playground and public toilet.

One of Canberra's classic walks, skirting the shores of the beautiful Lake Ginninderra. Fabulous views the whole way around, and the shared path is great for dogs and bikes too. This trail can be accessed with free parking from the northern peninsula (Diddams Close Park via Daddams Close), but may also be accessed from the western foreshores (adjacent to Macdermott Place with access off Joynton Smith Drive).

A good option if you're looking for something close to the University of Canberra. This trail explores the Gossan Hill Nature Reserve. Can be accessed from the uni, but the mapped route begins and ends from Weatherburn Place in the suburb of Aranda. This trail is not clearly marked so best to keep an eye on the GPS. Bound to see some kangaroos in this reserve, enjoy the feeling of being in nature despite being so close to Canberra city.

Ginninderra Lake Foreshore Walk is a great kid-friendly walk near the shores of Lake Ginninderra Lake. The trailhead can be accessed via Macdermott Place. There is plenty of parking here although it can get quite busy on weekends. Additional parking can be found on Beissel Street. Sit on one of the many benches in the park and watch the swans and ducks as they enjoy the lake. The park has lots of facilities including BBQs, toilets, parking, picnic tables, and a playground.
