This route can be hard to follow and it is suggested to download the route ahead of time in order to navigate. There are not many views along the trail, however, there are many opportunities to view wildlife and wildflowers. The trail can become muddy during wet conditions and waterproof shoes are recommended.

The GPS directions will sometimes lead to Live Oak Ridge Park, which is closed to the public. Look for Miller Springs Park across the street. Miller Springs Nature Center is a compilation of 10 loop trails located below Belton Lake Dam and between Temple and Belton. Bikes are allowed on the trails accessible from the south entrance (Miller Springs Park) also. The trails closest to the Temple side may be wheelchair and stroller-friendly but farther trails have considerable altitude change...

This trail travels along the scenic lake shore and through beautiful sections of forest and meadows. The trail eventually leads to Dana Peak if you continue to travel further. This trail is intended to be multi-use and is shared by mountain bikers and hikers. The trail is well-maintained and easy to navigate.

This trail is well-traveled and leads visitors along the river providing beautiful views and opportunities to observe wildlife in the area. There is plenty of shade along the way which makes for a great hike to escape the summer heat.
