Chalk Ridge Falls is a scenic area with something for everyone to enjoy. This trail is well-traveled and leads visitors along the river providing beautiful views and opportunities to observe wildlife in the area. There is plenty of shade along the way which makes for a great hike to escape the summer heat.

The river crossing on the trail may not be possible, or very dangerous, if water is being released from the dam. This is not the typical Chalk Ridge Hike. First part of the trail is overgrown in Spring/Summer, but the Boy Scouts are busy improving the trail. For a long time, the area on the north side of the river has been a well kept secret, but is seeing more foot traffic now. Please note there is a steep bank at river crossing.

This trail travels along the scenic lake shore and through beautiful sections of forest and meadows. The trail eventually leads to Dana Peak if you continue to travel further. This trail is intended to be multi-use and is shared by mountain bikers and hikers. The trail is well-maintained and easy to navigate.

There are many intersecting trails in this area and it is suggested to download the offline map to navigate. There are many scenic views along the way of the water and the surrounding area. This route can be hard to follow and it is suggested to download the route ahead of time in order to navigate. There are not many views along the trail, however, there are many opportunities to view wildlife and wildflowers. The trail can become muddy during wet conditions and waterproof shoes are recommended.
